KUALA LUMPUR: Prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak is now at Putra World Trade Centre to meet Barisan Nasional's immediate past lawmakers ahead of the 13th General Election.
Earlier, the former BN members of parliament had attended an election briefing by Umno information chief Datuk Ahmad Maslan, legal adviser Datul Hafarizam Harun and Election Commission (EC) Academy director Abdullah Jusoh.
The meeting, it is understood, is a prelude to Najib, who is also BN chairman, announcing the coalition's list of candidates expected this weekend.
The closed-door meeting will likely see Najib making the final rallying cry to his troops and convince them to throw their support behind the chosen candidates.
Najib's 'amanat' to the BN leaders aimed at reinforcing unity at both the top and grassroots' levels. The meeting was attended by all former BN MPs, including the BN top brass.
This came minutes after EC chairman Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusof had announced that the date for polling which falls on May 5.
